Just drag the nodes on the graph and tweek away. Personally I found it more intuitive to adjust the vst to suit but either is possible.
As far as vibraphone VSTs, the acknowledged king is from ://www.soniccouture.com/en/products/26-percussion/g46-vibraphone/
Works in the free version of Kontakt.

Cheers, Mark (love the vid!). Yep, Soniccouture is on my list - I'm hoping to find an iPad solution but the only thing I've found so far is a couple of goodish options in the GarageBand Keyboard Collection but if push comes to shove, I will sort out setup with my Mac with one of the VSTs (OrangeTree do another good one, and there's a freebie called Vibromaster which I may use whilst in config/tweak mode. Also a lot depends on the extent to which I will get back to playing live.

Thanks again.

Thanks Kevin,
The Orange tree one does need full Kontakt, which I would recommend if you are looking at other types of sound and makes it more expensive. I didn't see much option with Mallet choice either - anyway choices, choices.
Are you planning on a pedal or two?
How is it triggering anyway, the vid was showing some large latency but I guess that's the sync with the video.

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

Thanks - I couldn't find any info about the velocity curve x/y (2) axes - any pointers, please?

Cheers Mark - Soniccouture it will probably be then!!!
  • It's triggering with one piezo under each bar.
  • That original video was first connection with no tweaking etc - it's better now but yep, probably a bit of sync issue with the the video - I'll provide an updated video soon.
  • I'm not too concerned about latency at the moment until I sort out the sound source - I'm just using my work PC to play with the settings - if I can't sort an iPad solution, I will run something in isolation on my less cluttered Mac.
  • Rather than USB, I also intend trying a midi cable which could drive the sounds on my Casio PX5S or Roland XV2020 - this method would (I think) allow pedals a bit easier.

@Mark, @Dmitri
New quick video added to the Google photos album here - connected to iPad/GarageBand - latency not bad IMHO, if you're interested. More tweaks to come!

This is great!! Nice work, I've been thinking about doing the same, either to use up my remaining inputs or to use a whole other MegaDrum....
