Make this a sticky!

Hi, I finished my Megadrum today. It's been really easy thanks to Dmitri and Synthex for the fabulous All-in-one PCB and the usb midi.
I got some help making the pcb's for the jacks from a friend. (Tack Marcus!)

Here's My Megadrum:

Hvala!!
I will ask my friend who made the pcb's if he can Cad them the way I initially wanted. He just made it pin to pin because it was the fastest way. And I was eager to finish it so I told him to make it the fast way.
I had to slit the ribboncable in pairs and rearrange the channels so that they would match the order I wanted the connectors in. Not that hard, but can be tricky. I used double sided tape to hold the cables in place while I was arranging them.

Hello,

Here's my stuff:

Not very exclusive casing indeed but works as advertised :-)
It's a 22 version and signals are routed via DB25 port. MUCH cheaper
than jacks and better for my piezopad than separate cables.

my piezo pad (one of early stages. I lost hundreds of hours before I eliminated crosstalk completely <yes, I have set 'crosstalk=0' on my device>). In back you can see MIDIBOX - one of my completed projects from http://www.ucapps.de. Here I'll be posting more info on my projects: http://astachurski.googlepages.com/

Also some other stage of 'evolution'.

DIY hihat (still digital, on/off but pot version is on its way) and KICK pedal (from DTXplorer)

Now I'm assembling the edrum (for comparisons and as a reserve unit).

best wishes!

...and one more pic:

Well... it's an abstraction of a real drum kit yet it's still very powerful instrument. I used to play pads (akai mpd) before but lack of responsiveness and hardness of the pads started killing my fingers. I had to make decision - either I would buy more sensitive Korg Padkontrol or... I've chosen 'or' and built the megadrum brain hoping that large piezos would give me enough sensitivity and responsiveness... I'm not quite finished with the piezo pad (F**N crosstalk again...) yet I'm using it all the time for rehearsals. I just can't stop drumming and this fingerstuff gives me REAL satisfaction. BTW I can't imagine using it without pedals any more...

Edited. Problems reports/questions should be posted in other threds. Dmitri.

Thank you dmitri for the latest firmware. Independent crosstalk tuning for each channel is really cool !

best wishes for all e-drummers!

Finally finished my megadrum, again thanks to the great design of the synthex's 32 version all in one.

Heres some pic's of it finished in its case.

The fan and cord are not being used, I just forgot to take them out! its an old network switch case.

And heres a few pic's of the current set I'm using this on. Its a cheap set of drums which I cut in half and veneered (first time) over. Have more drums in half waiting to be veneered as soon as I can get the zeebrawood veneer I've been eyeing!
